Postdoc Opening

Investigator: Scott Young, M.D., Ph.D.
Affiliation:Section on Neural Gene Expression
Position Type:Postdoctoral Fellowship
Description:

The long-term goal of the Section on Neural Gene Expression is to understand the roles of oxytocin and vasopressin in social behaviors and learning and memory. Our research is discovering and exploring the neural circuitry impacted by these neurotransmitters through the use of transgenic animals, optogenetics, and in vivo electrophysiology and imaging.

An ideal postdoctoral candidate will have a strong interest in social behaviors and a desire to use a multi-disciplinary approach to pursue the investigations. The candidate will have experience in rodent behavior as well as in some of the following techniques: optogenetics, chemogenetics, electrophysiology, and imaging techniques in behaving rodents. Applicants should have a Ph.D. or M.D. degree with less than five years of postdoctoral experience. Highly motivated individuals with a record of productive research are encouraged to apply.
