Postdoc Opening

Investigator: Afonso Silva, Ph.D.
Affiliation:Cerebral Microcirculation Section
Position Type:Postdoctoral Fellowship
Description:

A post-doctoral position is immediately available to study neuronal circuits and neurovascular coupling in the primate brain. We use a multi-modal approach, which combines electrophysiology, optical imaging and functional magnetic resonance imaging to answer fundamental questions about how the brain perceives and processes visual information, and how cerebral blood flow is regulated during such processes. Our laboratories provide two state-of-the-art 7T/310 mm horizontal and 4.7T/600 mm vertical animal magnetic resonance imaging scanners, and electrophysiology and optical imaging instrumentation for combined multi-electrode recording and intrinsic signal imaging/two-photon laser scanning microscopy. All Candidates must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree in Neurosciences, Physiology, or a related discipline. Candidates with experience in imaging or electrophysiology are particularly encouraged to apply.

Application Instructions:

Applicants should submit a letter of interest outlining experience and research goals, as well as a CV and the names of three references to:
