Post-Doctoral Openings

Investigator:    David R. Sibley
Affiliation:    Molecular Neuropharmacology Section, NINDS
Position Type:    Postdoctoral Fellowship
Labs Web Page:    http://neuroscience.nih.gov/Lab.asp?Org_ID=67

Description:

A position is available for investigating the cellular and molecular biological characteristics of dopamine receptors. Projects include investigating the cell biology, pharmacology, and regulation of these receptors in clonal cell lines that have been stably transfected with receptor cDNAs. Areas of particular interest involve studying receptor structure/function/pharmacology relationships, receptor-effector coupling mechanisms, G protein interactions, and biochemical/molecular mechanisms of receptor desensitization. Additional projects involve the cloning of genes encoding proteins which interact with dopamine receptors, site-directed mutagenesis and receptor chimera studies, analysis and characterization of receptor expression in both normal and pathophysiological states. Transgenic and receptor "knock-out" animal projects are also in progress.
