Post-Doctoral Openings

Investigator:    Bai Lu
Affiliation:    Synapse Development and Plasticity Section, NICHD
Position Type:    Postdoctoral Fellowship
Labs Web Page:    http://neuroscience.nih.gov/lab.asp?org_ID=275

Description:

Postdoctoral positions are available to study BDNF regulation of synapse plasticity and cognitive functions (recent publication: Cell (2003) 112, 257-269; Science (2004) 306, 487-491; Nature Neurosci. (2005) 8, 164-172; Nature Neurosci. (2005) 8, 1069-1077; Neuron (2005) 45, 245-255; Nature Review Neuroscience (2005) 8, 603-614). Ongoing projects include: 1) activity-dependent BDNF transcription; 2) proteolytic of cleavage proBDNF; 3) BDNF secretion and trafficking; 4) Role of BDNF in cortical network and PFC-mediated executive functions. All of these projects employ multi-disciplinary approaches, and focus on biological functions and their relevance to psychiatric disorders. The candidate will be working with a team of highly interactive electrophysiologists and molecular biologists. Experience and skills in in vivo electrophysiology, cell biology and behaviors are particularly welcome. Send a statement of research interests, vita, and names of 3 references:
