Post-Doctoral Openings

Investigator:    Chi-Hon Lee
Affiliation:    Unit of Neuronal Connectivity, Laboratory of Gene Regulation and Development, NICHD, NIH
Position Type:    Postdoctoral Fellowship
Labs Web Page:    http://neuroscience.nih.gov/Lab.asp?Org_ID=503

Description:

A postdoctoral position is available for studying the development and function of the Drosophila visual system (Curr. Opin.Neurobiol. 17:65-72, 2007). We are investigating TGF-beta signaling mechanism in regulating neuronal target selection (Neuron 56:793-806, 2007). In addition, a large genetic screen based on visual-driven behaviors has been conducted and novel loci identified in this screen are now ready for analysis. We employ a combination of genetic, DNA microarray, behavioral, and confocal/EM imaging techniques. A second focus is the neural mechanism of high visual functions. We use behavior assays (video tracking and computer-generated visual stimuli) and functional imaging to dissect the circuits involved in color-vision and motion detection (Neuron 56:155-70, 2007). Candidates for these positions should hold either a Ph.D. or M.D., and should have less than five years of postdoctoral experience.
