Description:

The clinical fellowship is a one to two year program combining training in management of acute stroke patients and in the application of modern neuroimaging techniques to stroke management. The program runs two acute stroke care and research centers in the Washington DC metropolitan area with state-of-the art dedicated MRI facilities (1.5 T and 3.0 T).   The fellow will be provided the opportunity to develop expertise in the management of acute stroke patients, and in applying modern neuroimaging techniques to stroke management. The program encourages independent project development by the fellows and provides extensive scientific advisory support from clinical and basic scientists at the Stroke Center and NIH.  The goal of the fellowship is to prepare the participants to be independent clinicians and researchers engaged in active cerebrovascular programs at academic centers.
