Postdoctoral
position is available in the Unit of Behavioral Genetics Laboratory
of Molecular Pathophysiology National Institute of Mental Health to
study molecular controls of neuronal circuits underlying mood and
cognition. The work includes investigation of behavioral and physiological
and molecular changes in mice where genetic manipulations targeted
to the specific areas of the brain by means of conditional knockouts
and (or) virus-mediated gene expression (Neuron 2003, July; 39(2):
309-325, Neuron 2003, Sep; 39(6): 975-990, Biol. Psychiatry 2003 Dec
1; 54(11): 1125-33). The lab is equipped with electrophysiology setup
for single cell recording, two-photon and fluorescent microscopes,
complete set of equipment allowing testing of cognitive and emotional
behaviors. Applicants with strong interest in neuroscience and experience
in electrophysiology, and (or) animal behavior, and (or) molecular
biology are encouraged to apply. Position requires Ph. D. earned within
last 5 years.
